Hail bruising on shingles that is invisible from the ground
Why it happens here
Hail bruises shingles by knocking granules loose and fracturing the asphalt mat underneath. From the ground, the shingle looks fine. Up close, you see a soft spot that will crack and leak within a year. This is the most common damage we find on Southbridge roofs.
Our approach
We inspect every slope with a drone and use a moisture meter to find soft spots. Our HAAG Certified Inspectors document each bruise with close-up photos for your claim. We replace damaged shingles with matching GAF Timberline or Owens Corning Duration.
